PLEASANTON, Calif. – The Hawai'i Pacific University men moved up one position to finish 12th Tuesday at the Bay Area Invitational hosted by Holy Names and Cal State East Bay at the Ruby Hill Golf Club.
The Sharks posted a 317 in the final round to finish at 927 for the 12th place finish, four stroke ahead of Montana State Billings in 13th at 931. HPU was 11 strokes behind Dominican (Calif.) who was 11th at 916.

Ryan Torres of San Jose, Calif./Evergreen Valley finished in a tie for 36th after a 4-over-par 76 on Tuesday for a 10-over 226 total. Senior
Minsu Lee of San Jose, Calif./Willow Glen had the Sharks low round of the day, carding a 3-over 75 on the par 72, 7,020-yard Ruby Hill course to finish a stroke behind Torres in 38th at 11-over 227.
Sophomore Keli'i Kamelamela-Dudoit of Ho'olehua, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama finished with a 235 total after posting a non-scoring 86. Sophomore
Sirasit Prateepmongkol of Bangkok, Thailand/Ruamrudee International shot an 83 for a 242 total, while sophomore
Ray Kim of Aiea, Hawai'i/Moanalua also added an 83 for a 250 total. Junior Thomas Purcell of Liverpool, England/St. Mary's, who played as an individual, finished with an 83 to total 251.
Concordia Portland's Viktor Olund, not playing as a member of the team, won the individual title with a one-over 73 in the final round to finish at 4-under 212. He was two strokes ahead of Chico State's Nicholas Caputo who fired an amazing 5-under 67 for a 2-under 214. CUP's Jaxson Daskalos and Cal State East Bay's Ryan Hong tied for third at 1-under 215.
Tournament Co-Host Cal State East Bay won the team title posting a 303 on Tuesday for an 876. Chico State, who also had a 303, was three back at 879. Cal State Monterey Bay was third at 880.
The Sharks are in action again starting Sunday, March 1, when they visit the ninth island to play in Missouri-St. Louis' Las Vegas Desert Classic at the Royal Links Golf Club.
