Howard Okita led the Hawaii Loa College to the 1991 NAIA National Championship. That year, he was also named the NAIA softball Coach of the Year. Okita has been with the Sea Warriors since 1994, when the universities merged. He was named Head Coach of the HPU Sea Warriors in 1994. Okita's record as Head Coach is 633-279-3. In 2010, he served as co-Head Coach of the NCAA DII National Championship team.
