Shandy came to HPU in 1993 and completed her collegiate career as a Sea Warrior in 1995.  As a sophomore pitcher, Shandy was named HPU's team MVP as well as the District 29 MVP.  In her junior season, Shandy was named to the Far West Region All-Star Second Team.  She was also named NAIA All-American in both the 1993 and 1995 seasons.  Shandy held multipled HPU records including games pitched in a career (66), games started in a career (63), complete games in a season (23) and career (58), and career wins (49), and was one of two pitchers in HPU history to throw a perfect game.
