OKLAHOMA CITY – No. 9 Hawai'i Pacific University edged Cameron (Okla.) 4-3 on Wednesday in action at the Freedom Fitness Center.

The Sharks (5-3) easily won the doubles point from the Aggies (2-3), but split the singles points in the tune-up for the ITA Division II Indoor Team Championships starting Friday.

HPU made almost quick work of the doubles point, as Benjamin Loccisano and Marcel Hornung won 6-1 at No. 2 over Maycon Dias/Bruno Vietri. No. 3 doubles did the same as Ryohei Arai and Cheng-Chieh Wang downed Jesus Villamizar/Oscar del Granado 6-1. At No. 1, HPU's Ondrej Ctvarak and Matej Panik were leading Julen Gutierrez/Pierre Marion 4-3 when the point was won.

The Sharks claimed the first singles point at No. 5 as Panik stopped Dias 6-4, 6-4, but dropped the second when Ctvarak retired leading 6-3, 4-4 to give del Granado the win.

The other four singles positions went to three sets each. Cameron tied the match 2-2 when Marion won at No. 3 over HPU's Hornung 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, but HPU retook the lead as 44th ranked Loccisano knocked off 28th ranked Vietri 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

The Sharks clinched the win at No. 6 as Wang bettered the Aggies Villamizar 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 for the 4-2 lead. The teams allowed the No. 4 position to finish as CU's Gutierrez beat Arai 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
