Honolulu, HI – The Hawai'i Pacific baseball team came out on top in an exciting 12-6 win against DU on February 1st, 2025 at Hans L'Orange Park. Despite an early rally by DU, the Sharks' explosive offense and solid pitching performance led them to victory.

The game kicked off with a quick 3-0 lead for Hawai'i Pacific in the first inning, as Matschiner responded with a 2-RBI double in the second to cut the lead to 3-2. From there, the game remained competitive with DU scoring two more runs in the fourth inning to take a short-lived 4-3 lead.
However, HPU came back strong with a 3-run fifth inning and capped it off with a 3-run eighth to seal the win. DU struggled to find consistency on the mound, as McKinnis (0-1) took the loss after giving up 6 earned runs.
The game was punctuated by Blythe's home run in the third inning and solid pitching relief by Blanchard and Quia, ensuring the Sharks held off any late-game rallies.
