Brisbane, CA - The HPU Softball team was able to get back on track this week as they took the series from Art U to boost their in conference record to 7-11. 2 of their wins were 1 run games. They got on the board early the first game while they scored 2 runs late in the final game to seal the deal.
Game 1
The Sharks were in total control for the first 4 innings of game 1 as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead.
Tiari Hernadez drove in a couple runs while
Angel Ching hit a home run for the 4th run. Art was able to scrape 3 runs together but the Sharks won 4-3 with
Taylor Thompson going the distance only allowing 2 earned runs.
Game 2
Angel Ching continued to stay hot for the Sharks homering twice in game 2, however that would be all the Sharks would get on offense as Art scored 8 unanswered runs to take game 2 8-4.
Game 3
Game 3 was a low scoring affair as Art held onto a 1-0 lead heading into the 7th inning. The Sharks offense came alive in the 7th as
Taimane Panganoran hit a 2 run single to take the lead before
Taylor Thompson shut the door in the bottom of the 7th. Thompson pitched all 7 innings allowing just 3 hits and striking out 7.
Angel Ching had an electric weekend hitting 3 home runs and providing a spark for the Sharks on offense. The Sharks will look to ride this momentum into tomorrow where they take on San Francisco State for a double header to close out their road trip.
