Honolulu, HI - Despite losing the first game, HPU softball was able to bounce back and win the final 2 games to take the series versus APU and get back on track in Pac West conference play.
Layla Molina continued to be lights out in the circle, contributing in both of the Shark wins, while
Taylor Thompson came on in relief to help the Sharks win game 3. Freshman
Taryn Hirano continued to add to an impressive start to the season collecting 6 hits including a double and a pair of triples. The Sharks were able to take the extra base this series as they stole 8 bases and proved to be resilient as their 2 wins came in 1 run ball games.
Jewel Larson was the hero in game 2 with a 2 rbi single in the 6th to give the Sharks the lead while
Tiari Hernandez won game 3 for the Sharks with a walk-off double.
The Sharks will look to stay hot this weekend as they face Concordia at Sand Island this Saturday and Sunday,
March 8th-9th.
