Hawai'i Pacific dropped a competitive matchup to Point Loma, 4-2, on May 8 at the PLNU Tennis Courts.
The Sharks picked up the doubles point behind a dominant performance from the pairing of Annika Hakovirta and Evi Roobol, who secured a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles. However, Point Loma responded by taking the remaining two doubles matches to claim the early advantage.
In singles play, HPU battled across all courts, earning two victories. Tereza Ohnoutkova delivered a strong three-set win at No. 2 singles, bouncing back after dropping the second set to secure the match in the third. Kayleigh Castillo added another point for the Sharks with a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles.
Several other matches were tightly contested, including a three-set battle from Annika Hakovirta that ultimately went unfinished, while Point Loma secured wins at multiple positions to seal the overall result.
Hawai'i Pacific concludes the match with a 16-6 overall record, while Point Loma improves to 18-4.
