Personal: Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Daniel Santillian and Claudia Etchemendy and has two sisters Belen (28) and Milargros (15)… Leandro enjoys all types of outdoor activities… his favorite movie is The Grand Budapest Hotel… favorite music group is Muse… his favorite athletes are Meb Keflezighi, Kilian Jornet and Kelo Benvenuto… Leandro came to HPU for its location and is majoring in Human Resource Management… in ten years he would like to be prepping to represent his country in the Olympic Games.

Prior to HPU: Ran Cross Country and track at Garden City Community College in Garden City, KS… earned top student athlete of the team in 2011/2012… he is the two time Argentina Half Marathon National Champion.

HPU: 2014 begins his third season… In his two years he has 10 top 10 finishes in 15 races while winning 4 races... twice selected to First Team All - PacWest... PacWest final 5 list... Pacwest runner of the week once... Academic All - PacWest... PRs: 5k time of 15:33, 10k time of 32:19.
