Lydia “Lyd” Ornelas, a 5’1 base, top, and tumbler from Stockton, California, adds talent and versatility to the Sharks’ Acrobatics and Tumbling program. A graduate of Weston Ranch High School, she trained under coach Chuck Krause and twice earned Gymnast of the Year honors in 2018 and 2022. At Hawai‘i Pacific, Ornelas is pursuing a degree in biology with a concentration in human health while continuing her athletic career. She chose HPU for its strong athletic program, academic opportunities, and the independence it provides to prepare for a successful future.
