Ashkhon is in his second year as the Sharks Pitching Coach. In just his first year with the pitching staff, HPU pitchers recorded the best K/9, K/BB, and WHIP rates in the last 5 years. On opening day of the 2022 season, Jack O'brien tossed a Perfect Game and was awarded National Pitcher of the Week. Kuhaulua is a Kamehameha-Kapalama alum where he played collegiately for Menlo College and William Jessup. Ashkhon was one of the best pitchers in the country during his stint at Menlo in 2016, leading the country in strikeouts. He went on to William Jessup where he helped lead them to back-to-back conference championships in 2018 and 2019. Most recently, Ashkhon was running a baseball academy where he worked with the top pitchers in the state from the high school level to professional level. He was also the pitching coach for the state's top travel team, Hawaii Elite 2.0.Â
