Hawaii Pacific University Athletics

Pedretti begins his first season as a graduate assistant baseball coach for Hawaii Pacific.

His responsibilities include coaching the infielders, first base coaching duties, the strength and conditioning program and coordinating the study hall.

Last year Joel was an assistant coach at Merced College where he coached alongside his father Chris Pedretti, the head coach. Prior to coming to Merced College, Joel spent the previous two seasons as the Volunteer Assistant at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he helped lead the Governors to a conference championship and conference tournament championship. The team received a birth in the Atlanta Regional where they upset host Georgia Tech.

Joel’s playing career started at Merced College where he played on the infield. After playing for Merced College in 2003-2004 he transferred to the University of Oklahoma where he was on two regional teams and a Super Regional team that was five outs from reaching the College World Series. Upon finishing his playing career, he was an Assistant Coach at Merced High School for two seasons before moving to Tennessee.
