A native of Santee, California, Kyle Ruiz brings coaching experience at the community college and NCAA Division II levels. He began his career at Grossmont Community College (2022-23), where he contributed to player development and game preparation, before moving on to serve as a Graduate Assistant at Western Oregon University (2023- 25), gaining experience in recruiting, scouting, and all aspects of program operations.
Prior to coaching, Ruiz played at Grossmont CC (2016–18), San Diego Christian College (2019–22), and professionally with the San Diego Sharks of The Basketball League (2022–23). His background as both a coach and player allow him to connect with athletes while emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and growth on and off the court
