Personal: Born in Mesa, AZ to Fermin and Olga Villagran…. Has one sister, Marisol and one brother, Jose…… favorite hobbies include watching movies and playing basketball….. favorite foods are menudo, tacos and pizza… came to HPU for the chance to run and study in Hawaii
 
Prior to HPU: Ran cross country, tack and field and played soccer at Skyline High School… ran cross country and track and field at Central Arizona College for coach Paul Tavares….. All-American in 3000 and 500 meter steeple-chase.

HPU: 2014: begins his second season. 2013: Had 2 top 10 finishes in 6 races while winning 1 race... PacWest runner of the week once...  PacWest final 5 list... selected to Second Team All - PacWest... Academic All - PacWest... PR's: 1500m time of 3:59, 5k time of 15:03, 10k time of 32:39, Chocolate milk mile time of 5:22.
