Daniel Pollock

Daniel Pollock joins HPU this season as the women's tennis coach. Throughout his coaching career, he has achieved remarkable success across various universities and conferences. At Johns Hopkins University from 2021 to 2024, he was honored as the ITA National Coach of the Year and Southeast Regional Coach of the Year in 2023, leading the team to its highest national ranking of 6 and securing three Centennial Conference Coach of the Year titles. Notable player achievements during his tenure include producing five All-Americans and guiding four players to the NCAA Individual Tournament. Additionally, he had impressive recruiting success with the team consistently ranked among the top in NCAA DIII, peaking at #2 nationally.

During his time at the University of Maryland from 2019 to 2021, Pollock played a key role in developing the program's first Big-10 Freshman of the Year and mentoring two nationally ranked singles players. At Butler University in 2018-2019, he set a program record with 21 dual match wins and achieved the highest-ever Regular Season finish in the Big East, securing second place. Earlier in his career, at the University of Utah from 2014 to 2018, he led the team to its highest NCAA DI National Ranking of 24 and guided them to their first NCAA Championships appearance in 21 years as an At-Large Selection.

Similarly, at Brigham Young University from 2012 to 2014, Pollock achieved the program's highest NCAA DI National Ranking of 30 and the highest Dual Match Winning Percentage in its history. At the University of Idaho in 2011-2012, he achieved the second-highest winning percentage in program history and secured the highest ITA Mountain Regional Ranking at 6. Lastly, at the University of Illinois, Chicago from 2007 to 2009, he led the team to two Horizon League Regular Season and Tournament Runner-Up finishes, marking a successful start to his coaching journey.
