Prior to HPU: A graduate of Maticni gymnazium in Ostrava, The Czech Republic...where he lettered in tennis.

HPU: 2013: Went 16-2 in singles, 18-5 in doubles and was ranked third nationally in singles and fifth in doubles…. named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American, the HPU Male Athlete of the Year, a Capital One Academic All-American, and the ITA's West Region Authur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award winner… Named PacWest Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-PacWest, and PacWest Tournament MVP… 2012: For the second year in a row, Michnev was named an ITA All-American, finishing eighth in the country...with a record of 13-4, mostly in first singles...with partner first doubles, Patric Guenther, they ranked #3 in the country according to ITA with an overall record of 16-3. 2011: Michnev was named an ITA All-American, finishing 2011 as the fourth ranked player in the nation....Playing exclusively at first singles, Michnev went 15-3....In March 2011, he knocked off the country's top ranked player....went 12-6 in doubles.
