Chelsea Patton is in her 10th year on the staff at Hawai‘i Pacific, having served as Assistant Athletic Director, Internal Operations from 2014-2020 and Assistant Women's Tennis Coach from 2022 to present.
While coaching for HPU, Patton was awarded the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Assistant Coach of the Year, West Region in 2023 where the team made a national high ranking of #2 for NCAA Division II. After winning the PacWest Conference Championship that 2023 Spring season, they ventured onwards to the NCAA Championships and came home semifinalists. Later that year, she traveled to France as the Assistant Coach of the USA National team for the Master’U BNP Paribas, helping lead USA to world victory with the top American collegiate tennis players in the country.
She came to HPU from Whitman College (Wash.), where she coached the Blues to No. 16 in NCAA Division III in 2014 after winning the Northwest Conference Championships. On the team were two that she coached to be all-Americans.
Patton, a top national junior player from her hometown of Boise, Idaho, was a four-year letterwinner at Eastern Washington University. She was named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic all four seasons on her way to earning Bachelor’s degrees in French and Business Administration in 2013. She earned a Master’s of Business Administration from HPU in May 2017.
