Jordi Vives

Jordi Vives is in his third season as the graduate assistant men’s tennis coach. Vives, a native from Barcelona, Spain and former standout player for Florida Gulf Coast University, achieved a college career high ranking of No. 33 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Vives, was named Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year for the second time after achieving an overall record of 19-2 his senior year.
 
During his three-year Eagles career, he became the first player in FGCU’s history to win a combination of 100 matches and he is the Eagles winningest singles player. Vives also crowned as the Southeast’s recipient of the 2014 ITA Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership & Sportsmanship Award. That year, Vives also established the longest singles win streak in the nation, and continued to lead the country winning 14 straight matches.
 
Vives spent his freshman season playing for the Trojans of the University of Southern California, where he was a member of the National Championship team, and achieved a record of 7-1 between singles and doubles play.
 
Vives helped the Eagles as their student assistant coach during the fall of 2015 before joining the Sharks in 2017 as their graduate assistant coach. Vives’ first year of coaching at Hawaii Pacific University finished with a PacWest Conference title and the team being ranked within the top 5 teams in the nation.
 
Vives earned a B.S. degree in Communications at Florida Gulf Coast University and is working towards a Masters in Business Administration at Hawai'i Pacific University.
 
Vives has been a singles finalist and a doubles winner at an ITF Future event. His best wins include victories over opponents being as high as 300 ATP in the world.
