Hawaii Pacific University Athletics

Dr. Alexander Garber was raised in Hillsdale, Michigan. He holds his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, and obtained his MD and PhD from Case Western Reserve University. He went on to start his surgery internship and residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

After completing his residency training at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Hawai’i, he held a locum tenens surgical trauma position at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Nebraska. Dr. Garber went on to complete his Orthopaedic Fellowship training at the University of Southern California in Sports Medicine, and Shoulder & Elbow Reconstruction.

Currently, he is the team physician for Hawaii Pacific University, and Waipahu High School. In addition to caring for high-level athletes, Dr. Garber is himself an avid amateur athlete who enjoys surfing, distance swimming, and beach volleyball.
