Kanda Korver was named the inaugural Head Flag Football Coach at Hawai?i Pacific University in 2026, becoming the first head coach in program history.
Korver brings a diverse background in coaching, leadership development, and program building. Prior to joining HPU, she served as an assistant coach for the varsity girls flag football team and intermediate girls soccer program at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama. She is also the founder of Kore Vibration, a leadership and athlete development organization that has provided mindset training, mentorship, and team workshops to more than 1,500 athletes, parents, and coaches across Hawai?i and the mainland.
Beyond athletics, Korver spent seven years at Meta as a Senior Program Manager in Global Recruiting Operations before transitioning into youth development as Director of Operations for Keiki Coders. Her experience in leadership, culture building, and athlete development will guide the foundation of HPU's newest program.
Korver believes building HPU Flag Football "from the ground up" is an opportunity to create a lasting culture while helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field. She views the program's inaugural team as pioneers and is passionate about expanding opportunities for wahine to compete in collegiate flag football throughout Hawai?i.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Korver earned her bachelor's degree in Economics and Spanish with a minor in Mathematics from Occidental College, where she captained the Tigers volleyball team and earned SCIAC All-Academic honors. She also completed a Data Analytics Certificate through the University of California, Berkeley Extension.
As the inaugural head coach, Korver will oversee all aspects of HPU Flag Football, including recruiting, player development, and establishing the program's culture. Her coaching philosophy centers on gratitude, purpose, and empowering student-athletes to "make your ancestors proud."
