Vraunwyn Denny

Vraunwyn Denny brings more than 26 years of coaching experience to Hawai?i Pacific University as the head coach of the Sharks' STUNT and cheer programs. A championship-winning coach and two-time Coach of the Year, Denny has built nationally recognized programs while developing student-athletes both on and off the mat.

Prior to joining HPU, Denny served as the head cheer coach at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California, from 2007 to 2024. During her tenure, she led the Vikings to multiple CIF Southern Section championships, a CIF State Regional championship, two UCA High School National Championships, USA High School National Championships, and numerous CheerPros championships. Marina also earned 10 Top-10 finishes at the UCA High School National Championships. Her success was recognized with Marina High School Coach of the Year honors in 2021-22 and 2022-23, along with CheerPros Coach of the Year recognition during the 2021-22 season.

Most recently, Denny served as Teams Coordinator at Kokokahi Gymnastics in Kane?ohe, Hawai?i, where she directed competitive gymnastics training, mentored coaches, coordinated team operations, and served as a meet director for multiple gymnastics competitions.

Throughout her coaching career, Denny has also held positions with Rise Up Athletics, SCATS Gymnastics, PACE All-Stars, and What's Up Gymnastics, coaching athletes across a wide range of competitive levels. She has additionally served as a stunt technique consultant for Westcliff University, Vanguard University, and Orange Coast College, contributing to athlete development, advanced stunt progression, and collegiate program support.

In addition to her coaching accomplishments, Denny has enjoyed success as a competitor, winning a UCA College National Championship in the All-Girl Stunt Group division and a World Championship with an International All-Girl team. She also earned two runner-up finishes at the NCA College Nationals.

Known for her expertise in routine choreography, athlete development, program leadership, and safety, Denny has extensive experience in staff development, budgeting, fundraising, event management, and mentoring student-athletes. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes creating a positive environment that promotes teamwork, integrity, accountability, and personal growth.

Denny attended Hawai?i Pacific University after graduating from Pearl City High School. She brings extensive experience in coaching, athlete development, and championship-level program management as she begins leading the Sharks' STUNT and cheer programs.
