The Hawai’i Pacific Men’s Cross Country Team kicked off its season over the weekend with a second place finish at the Chaminade Invitational. Newcomer Fermin Murillo-Villagran turned in an exceptional performance, running a blistering 15:40 and has been named this week’s Pepsi Player of the Week.

Murillo-Villagran comes to Hawai’i Pacific as an All-American in the 3000m steeple-chase for the Central Arizona College Track Team.

Both HPU cross country squads will return to action on Saturday, September 14th at the Big Wave Invitational at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. The race is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
