HONOLULU, HI (September 27, 2013)-- The Hawai’i Pacific Women’s Cross Country Team dominated the podium at the Big Wave Invitational on Saturday thanks in large part to the performance of Junior Fiona McKenna. On top of picking up Pacific West Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, McKenna has now been named this week’s, Pepsi Player of the Week.
McKenna took top finisher honors in her first race as a Sea Warrior after completing the 5k in 18:48. The Dublin, Ireland native not only beat all NCAA Division II racers by a full 30 seconds, but also beat all Division I runners who entered the race as well.
The Hawai’i Pacific runners will return to action on Saturday September 28th when the host the HPU Invitational at Kahuku Golf Course. Race time is scheduled for 8 a.m.
