HONOLULU, HI (November 19, 2013)—It didn’t take long for Hawai`i Pacific Men’s Basketball Player Darry Jones Jr. to make his presence known on the court for the Sea Warriors. The first-year guard just missed a double-double in a win against Western State Colorado University on Sunday earning him the Pepsi Player of the Week.
In his first regular season game as a Sea Warrior Jones Jr. turned in a strong performance scoring 17 points on 6-10 shooting from the field. The junior transfer also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds to go along four assists and two steals.
HPU jumped out to an early 10-0 lead, and led by double-digits for the final 33 minutes of the game, eventually earning a 75-65 victory.
The Sea Warriors now head to Ellensburg, WA for the GNAC/PacWest Challenge. First up for HPU will be Central Washington on November 22nd before facing the #2 team in the nation, Seattle Pacific, the following day.
