Kaneohe, HI (10/14/10) – At Atherton Field, the HPU men's soccer team was defeated by Dominican University, 1-0. The Sea Warriors fall to 7-5 overall and 6-2 in the PacWest, while the Penguins improve to 2-8-1 overall and 2-5 in conference.

Pedro Guevara scored the only goal of the match, converting on a penalty kick with 12 minutes to play. Guevara was taken down in the left side of the penalty area before converting on the kick.

HPU was unable to muster much attack, but did have several opportunities to score in the first half. Richard Guffens (Leiden, The Netherlands) nearly scored on a pair of headers to give the Sea Warriors an early lead. HPU was outshot 11-6 by Dominican.

Kay Flache (Schweinfurt, Germany) posted six saves in net for HPU, with Dominican goalkeeper Matthew Carlson recording two saves.

HPU retakes the field on Wednesday, October 23, versus Notre Dame de Namur. Start time at Atherton Field is set for 12:30 p.m.
