Men’s Soccer Falls To Argos

Kaneohe, HI (10/20/10) – At Atherton Field, the HPU men's soccer team was defeated by Notre Dame de Namur University, 2-0. HPU falls to 7-6 overall and 6-3 in the PacWest, while NDNU improves to 11-2-1 overall and 8-1-1 in conference.

Armando Garcia scored both Argos goals. He scored the game opener in the 33rd minute when he followed up a save by HPU keeper Kay Flache. Flache made a save to his left as Garcia came in and punched the ball into the upper right corner.

Just seconds after halftime, Garcia received a ball on the right flank which he took inside and scored off the outstretched leg of HPU defender Nathan Scott.

The Sea Warriors made a push to score late in the first half but were unable to even the match before halftime.

Flache recorded five saves in net for HPU, with Argo keeper Isiah Castro posting two saves.

The match was broadcasted live on KWHE-TV 14 and streamed on America One.

The Sea Warriors retake the field on Saturday, October 23, versus Dominican University. Start time at Atherton Field is set for 12:30 p.m.
