Laie, HI (10/23/10) – At the Canon Activities Center on the campus of BYU-Hawaii, the HPU women's volleyball team defeated the Lady Seasiders, 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 15-10). The Sea Warriors improve to 13-4 overall and 7-3 in conference while BYUH drops to 10-6 overall and 7-2 in conference.
Natasha Bell recorded a match-high 19 kills to go along with 11 digs. Courtney Curran posted 12 kills and Kyra Pelayo added 35 digs.
Losaline Fakaosi led BYUH with 13 kills and 16 digs.
The Sea Warriors fell behind after dropping game one, but came back to win games two and three in convincing fashion. After holding a slim 15-14 lead in game three, HPU won 10 of the next 12 points for the win.
The Seasiders rallied to win game four, but HPU clinched the victory with a win in the decisive fifth game. A pair of kills by Brittany Wood helped HPU to an 8-2 lead and a foothold on the game.
HPU next plays this Wednesday, October 27, versus Dominican University. First serve at Saint Andrew's Priory is set for 7:00 p.m.
