Honolulu, HI (October 13, 2011) – The Hawai'i Pacific men's soccer team overwhelmed Chaminade 5-0 in a road PacWest match. HPU was relentless, outshooting CUH 29-3.
All-American
Chance Bukoski gave HPU the lead 20 minutes into the match,
George Fochive had the assist. The goal is Bukoski's 12th of the season, tying him for the conference lead. Fourteen minutes later,
Sebastian Luhr made it a 2-0 game on his first goal of the season. After the half, HPU kept scoring. At the 58:37 mark,
Mark Thomson scored on an assist from
Keenan Ho.
Demetrius Beauchamp set up
Alan Albertazzi to make it a 4-0 game in the 84th minute. Less than a minute later, it was Beauchamp who scored with an assist from Thomson.
Mael Lefebvre had a shutout in goal, stopping one shot. Bukoski was busy with eight shots taken, six of them on goal. Fochive took five shots.
HPU is now 10-3 overall and 7-1 in the PacWest. HPU holds a slight edge over Grand Canyon for the top spot in the conference.
HPU next hosts Cal Baptist; CBU currently only has one loss in conference play. The match will take place on Monday at Atherton Field at 3:00 PM.
