LAIE, HI (April 14, 2011) – In the opening round of PacWest Championships Hawai'i Pacific beat Dixie State 5-0. The 15-4 Sea Warriors now advance to the semi-finals tomorrow against Grand Canyon at 1 P.M. in Laie.

HPU took all three doubles matches with ease. At first and third doubles the Sea Warriors were perfect winning 8-0. First doubles featured the seventh-ranked pair of Zora Vlckova and Celina Goetti. At second doubles Ielyzaveta Rybakova and Aleksandra Stankovic moved to 6-1 on the season.

In championship play after the match is decided all other matches are stopped. With HPU leading 3-0 after doubles only first and third singles were completed. Zora Vlckova and Celina Goetti each won by 6-1, 6-0 scores.

Earlier in the season HPU defeated Grand Canyon 6-3 in Phoenix.
