San Rafael, CA (April 19, 2012) – The Hawai'i Pacific women's tennis team (15-4) completely dominated its first round matchup against Dixie State College (4-8) in the PacWest Championships. The second seeded Sea Warriors won 5-0 and only lost one game in all five matches combined.
The match only lasted a shade over an hour as HPU was firing on all cylinders. HPU took a commanding 3-0 lead after doubles play. The teams of

Zora Vlckova/
Lea Kruse-Utermann both played perfect matches wining 8-0. Dixie State took its lone game from HPU at first doubles; still
Vivian Hansen and
Magdalena Smejova were exceptional in their 8-1 triumph.
HPU kept up the hot play at the top of the singles lineup. Vlckova and Goetti both cruised to 6-0, 6-0 wins at first and second singles. With HPU winning the first five matches, the other matches were halted.
HPU will now take on the #3 seeded Grand Canyon University tomorrow at 12:30 PM. If HPU can win, it will face the winner of BYU-Hawaii v. Academy of Art on Saturday at 9 AM.
