Honolulu, HI (September 6, 2012) - The Sea Warriors open another busy weekend tonight with a match against Western Oregon at St. Andrew's Priory, and for the first time since 2006, Hawai'i Pacific will play with national ranking implications.
In the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll the Sea Warriors were among “others receiving votes.” HPU earned some recognition after going 3-1 during the opening weekend of the season with notable wins over #23 Sonoma State and Seattle Pacific (also receiving votes). PacWest foes BYU-Hawai'i and Grand Canyon are also ranked in the top 25.
-Western Oregon opens the second part of the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts HPU challenge tonight at 7 PM. The Wolves are 3-1 in 2012 after posting a solid 14-8 record in 2011. On Friday night, St. Martin's (0-0) comes calling to the Priory at 7 PM and the tourney wraps up on Saturday evening at 5 PM against Alaska-Fairbanks (2-1).
-Last weekend's 2012 Outrigger Hotels & Resorts All-Tournament Team has been announced.

Pihanakealoha Kea both made the team after strong weekends. Fresno Pacific's Rupia Inck took home MVP honors.
