Men's Soccer Concludes Successful Road Trip With Shutout

Box Score SAN DIEGO, CA (October 5, 2013)—The Hawai`i Pacific Men's Soccer Team (5-3-1, 3-1) defeated Point Loma (5-4-2, 3-1-2) on Saturday. The Sea Warriors finish their four-game road trip at 3-1.

The first half was a defensive battle as both sides struggled to get shots on goal.
HPU would break through just before the break however when Brais Garcia sent a looping shot from distance to give the Sea Warriors a 1-0 lead at the break.

Garcia added his second goal of the night when Felipe Silva sent a through ball into the box that the Spaniard tucked inside the far post to give HPU a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish.

Garcia's two goals are his sixth and seventh of the year tying him with Silva for the team lead.

The HPU defense was solid throughout the game as they held the Sea Lions without a single shot on goal helping Sea Warrior goalkeeper Mael Lefebvre earn a share of the PacWest lead with four shutout victories

Silva has now registered a point in five of his last six matches for the Sea Warriors.

HPU will now head back to Oahu for a six-game home stand beginning with Notre Dame de Namur on October 12th. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Atherton Field.
