Box Score HONOLULU, HI (January 5, 2015) – The Hawai'i Pacific Men's Basketball Team (8-4, 3-3) lost 84-58 to Point Loma (10-2, 3-2) on Monday night at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
HPU opened the scoring when Luke Hager nailed a three-pointer, but the Sea Lions went on a 13-0 run over the next five minutes. A bucket from Clayton Guy and anther three-pointer from Hager trimmed the deficit to five with 10:05 to play in the first half. The hot-shooting visitors quickly extended their lead to double-digits and led 44-28 at the break.
Point Loma's 55.9% (33-59) shooting night prevented any comeback in the second half. It was the Sea Lion's night, they hit nine three-pointers and only turned the ball over five times.
Josh Morgan was feeling it for HPU, the junior from Colorado hit 6-7 shots including 5-6 from three-point range. Hager was his dependable self with 18 points and nine rebounds, both are his averages. Justin Long passed out a game-high four assists.
The Sharks return to action on Thursday (January 8th) at 6:30 pm when they host Notre Dame de Namur at the Blaisdell Center.
