Box Score HONOLULU (October 17, 2015)—After enduring a tough West Coast road swing last week, the Hawaii Pacific men's soccer team bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Chaminade in a PacWest Conference contest at Saint Louis Field.
The Sharks (6-4-1, 4-2-1 PacWest) began their scoring spree in the 19
th minute as
Sven Koenig took a cross from
Mario Garcia and tapped the ball in at close range for the goal. Twenty minutes later,
Josch Cuerten scored his fifth goal of the season on a breakaway as, after eluding the drawn-out goalkeeper, he found the goal from 35 yards out.
Erik Kemsies added his fourth score of the year on a penalty kick in the 76
th minute and the Sharks clamped down on defense to preserve the clean sheet.
The Silverswords (0-10, 0-7) were out-shot 11-8 by HPU. The loss marked the 10
th straight defeat for winless Chaminade, which also fell to HPU in a non-conference matchup on Sept. 19, 6-1.
HPU returns to action with a home contest at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Park Field 5 as the Sharks face Dominican University of California on Monday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m.
