Box Score WAIPIO, HAWAII (October 24, 2015)—The Hawaii Pacific men's soccer team turned in an impressive offensive display and employed an organized defensive effort en route to a 5-1 victory over Holy Names in a PacWest Conference contest at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
The Sharks (8-4-1, 6-2-1 PacWest) established a 1-0 lead on
Ryo Sugihara's goal in the 26
th minute, which was a byproduct of a through ball from
Erik Kemsies.
Christopher Campbell,
Javier Risco Garcia,
Sven Koenig and
Kala Judd all added second-half goals to complete the blowout.
The Hawks (2-11-1, 1-7-1) scored on a penalty kick from Tomas Horak in the 89
th minute, the lone blemish against victorious goalkeeper
Eduardo Palacios. The match featured a few contentious moments and a total of nine yellow-card cautions were handed out as a result.
HPU hits the road for a three-match West Coast trip before returning to Atherton Field on Nov. 7 for Senior Day and the regular-season finale against UH Hilo at 3 p.m. The Sharks are currently riding a three-match winning streak.
