Box Score RIVERSIDE, CALIF. (October 31, 2015)—The Hawaii Pacific men's soccer team needs to win out and hope for some good luck down the stretch in order to remain in line for an outside shot at the PacWest title.

The third-place Sharks held up their end of the deal with a 3-1 victory over California Baptist University in crucial conference contest at Lancer Soccer Field.

HPU (9-5-1, 7-3-1 PacWest) broke the scoreless stalemate in the 52nd minute as Sven Koenig scored his seventh goal of the season after being assisted by Jackson Groves. Following Josch Cuerten's goal in the 69tth minute, Koenig added an insurance goal in the 90th minute to seal the win.

HPU controlled the offensive pace throughout the match, and the squad's aggressive style of play led to a 21-11 shot margin over CBU.

The Lancers (6-8-2, 5-5-1) scored on Julian Ezeke's goal in the 82nd minute, but the home team could not complete the comeback as Daniel Moss was given a red card late in the match and the squad played one man down for the duration.

HPU continues its three-match road trip, which includes matches along the West Coast and in Laie, before returning to Atherton Field on Nov. 7 for Senior Day and the season finale against UH Hilo at 3 p.m.
