Men’s Basketball Sets Record with 20 Treys in Win over Grace Bible

Box Score HONOLULU (November 28, 2015) – The Hawaii Pacific men's basketball team drained a school-record 20 3-point buckets en route to an 85-73 victory over Grace Bible College as part of the Hoops in Hawaii Classic at Moanalua High School.

The HPU record of 19 treys was originally set in 1991 and was matched in 1994 against Lewis & Clark.

Bowling Green transfer Chauncey Orr nailed six treys and finished with 20 points to go with a team-leading eight rebounds, while Sharks senior forward Joel Feigler racked up a game-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field. Rema Lascelles dished out 10 assists and added six points and six boards to help HPU even its record with the win.

The Sharks (2-2) sprinted out of the gates to the tune of seven 3-pointers and built a 25-4 lead less than seven minutes into the contest. Grace Bible chipped away at the deficit, however, HPU nailed 13 first-half treys to establish a 50-36 advantage at intermission.

The Tigers (6-6), members of the National Christian College Athletic Association, were led by 14 points apiece from Rod Altidor and Jared Bradford.

HPU returns to action on Sunday to face Western Washington University in the Classic finale. Opening tip is slated for 2 p.m. at Moanalua.

The Sharks then open PacWest Conference action against Holy Names on Dec. 3 at 6:30 at Blaisdell Arena.
