Box Score FRESNO, CALIF. (November 4, 2015)—The Hawaii Pacific women's volleyball team fell to Fresno Pacific 25-19, 25-17, 26-28, 25-12 in a PacWest Conference matchup, and with the defeat, dropped to .500 in conference action.
The Sharks (12-10, 7-7 PacWest) received 11 kills apiece from
Carson Pyle and
Elizabeth Culpepper, but struggled offensively to the tune of a 0.076 hitting percentage. Setter
Tenika Wentworth notched 29 assists and chipped in nine digs and two kills, while senior defensive specialist
Amanda Moriarty posted 29 digs.
"We did a good job of fighting back and winning game three, but ultimately we didn't have the energy to compete tonight," said HPU coach
Daryl Kapis.
The Sunbirds (9-12, 9-8) were led by Morghan Williams and her match-high 14 kills, while Carley Bock and Montana Lowe each chipped in 12 kills. Bissie DenHartog racked up a match-leading 47 assists in the victory.
HPU will remain on the road to continue its three-match away swing and returns for a home contest at St. Andrew's Priory on Friday, Nov. 13, to face PacWest foe Point Loma at 7 p.m.
