Box Score HONOLULU (December 17, 2015) – The Hawaii Pacific women's basketball team won its fourth consecutive contest via a 58-51 triumph over Truman State University in the Oahu Christmas Classic at Saint Francis School.
The Sharks (6-4 overall, 3-0 PacWest) leaned on
Cece Pearl, who led the squad with 13 points and seven rebounds and also dished out two assists.
Spencer Gray turned in a memorable performance off the bench with 12 points and two treys coupled with four rebounds.
Jessi Reeves also helped HPU's cause with a balanced line of seven points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
HPU connected on 15-of-18 free throw attempts and outscored the opposition 20-14 in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory.
The Bulldogs (7-4) were led by Rachel Steinhoff's 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds from Ashley Hartwig.
HPU, which finished a program-best 25-5 last season and made it to the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, used a 15-8 second-quarter run to turn what was a 20-16 deficit into a 31-28 halftime advantage. Gray scored nine points in the first half and buried two clutch 3-balls to shift the momentum in HPU's favor.
The Sharks enter a 19-day stretch without a game and return to conference play on the road at Fresno Pacific on Jan. 5 at 5:30 p.m.
