HONOLULU – Hawai'i Pacific University fell in their first venture in the 2019-20 basketball season to the Kingdom of Hawai'i club 76-65 in exhibition play on Saturday afternoon at The Shark Tank.
It's the only tune-up for the Sharks before opening the season in two weeks.
Senior
Ronald Blain of McDonough, Ga./Union Grove led the way for the Sharks with 17 points and 10 rebounds, with junior
Tavon Tarpley of McLean, Va./Langley coming off the bench with 16 points. Going 8-for-10 from the field.
Ako Kaluna led KOH with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Nick Velasquez scored 21 points.
The Sharks open the season in the GNAC-PacWest Challenge in Anchorage, Alaska against host Alaska Anchorage on Saturday, Nov. 9. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. HST (7:30 p.m. AST) in the Alaska Airlines Center.
