IRVINE, Calif. – Hawai'i Pacific University goalkeeper
Jeremy Zielinski was named the PacWest Conference Player of the Week for his outstanding play last week.
A junior from Sunnyvale, Calif./Homestead, Zielinski picked up his fifth and sixth wins of the season in front of the net as the Sharks defeated Academy of Art 4-1 and Holy Names 2-1 in double overtime.
For the week Zielinski recorded 10 saves against 20 shots and allowed two goals in over 201 minutes of time. He recorded five saves in 11 shots against Academy of Art and had another five saves against nine shots versus Holy Names.
For the season, Zielinski has a 6-6-1 record with three shutouts. He's second in the PacWest with 4.77 saves a game and a .775 saves percentage. He's also fourth in the PacWest in goals against with a 1.34 average.
Joining Zielinski with weekly honors are Arturo Astorga of Azusa Pacific as PacWest Player of the Week and Jack Kilgallon of Biola as PacWest Freshman of the Week.
The Sharks wrapped up the season with the victories last week.
