HONOLULU – No. 5 Hawai'i Pacific University fell 4-0 to Division I San Jose State on Saturday at the University of Hawai'i Tennis Complex.

The No. 5 Sharks (8-5) picked up a set, but not the point in doubles to the Spartans (7-4), and had the top singles positions on the court when the match was decided.

The Sharks only win was at No. 1 doubles, as HPU's duo of Elodie Busson and Elisa Elhadj, ranked 36th in Division II doubles, defeated Savannah Sendar and Laura Malsert 6-4. But the doubles point went to San Jose State as Miyo Kobayashi and Alba Pedrero Galindo beat Mihoki Miyahara and Nicole Ballach 6-4 at No. 2, and Tamara Culibrk and Klara Milojkovic downed Debora Echeverria and Sarah Ikioka 6-4.

The Spartans took singles points No. 4 through No. 6 to win the match. Sendar won at No. 4 over Echeverria 7-5, 6-1, as Malsert beat Ikioka 6-1, 6-4, and Milokovic bettered Ballach 6-2, 6-1.
