LA JOLLA, Calif. – No. 4 Hawai'i Pacific University lost for the first time this season as No. 1 Barry defeated HPU 4-1 in non-conference play at UC San Diego's Northview Tennis Courts.

The No. 4 Sharks (4-1) collected only one point against the defending national champion Bucs (6-0).

The Sharks collected their only point at No. 1 singles, where Elodie Busson defeated Zuza Maciejewska 6-3, 6-2.

HPU won one of the doubles sets, as Debora Echeverria and Sarah Ikioka upset 17th ranked Eleonore Barrere and Julie Razafindranaly 6-3 at No. 3 doubles. Barry took the other three completed singles points to win the match, which was terminated after clinching because of threating weather conditions.
