Indianapolis, Ind. – The ninth-ranked Hawaii Pacific University men's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season 4-2 to the seventh-ranked University of Indianapolis, Wednesday afternoon at the UIndy Tennis Center.
 
The Sharks (3-1) snapped a four-match win streak, while UIndy (6-0) remain unbeaten headed into the ITA Indoor National Championships.
 
Double Competition
The brother duo of 
Ole Heine and 
Jan Heine were defeated by Tom Zeuch and Edgar Destouet 6-2 in the first dual of the afternoon. Pairing 
Riku Ogasawara and 
Robin Sanz battled it out with Erwan Momo Andre and Louis Picaud taking the win 7-6. In the third dual of the doubles competition, 
Jakub Beran and 
Benjamin Loccisano fought their way to a 7-6 win on court three to capture the doubles point.
 
Singles Competition
On court one, 
Jakub Beran jumped on Destouet in set one 6-2. Destouet then flipped the script in the second set taking it 6-2. Headed to set three Beran fell behind early and couldn't seem to find any momentum taking the loss 6-2, 2-6, 0-6.
 
UIndy picked up two more straight-set wins in the three and four courts. Ogasawara on the five courts handled the greyhound's Momo Andre in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to keep the Sharks in the fight. However, Indianapolis picked up the win with August Ehrnrooth defeating 
Mile Matic 6-2, 7-6. 
Robin Sanz and Tom Zeuch matchup went unfinished due to the clinching of the match.
 
Up next for the men's team will be the ITA Indoor National Championship first-round matchup with Saint Leo beginning at 6:00 am HT.
