Box Score Indianapolis, Ind. – The ninth-ranked Hawaii Pacific University men's tennis team fell 4-1 to the third-ranked Saint Leo, Friday afternoon at the UIndy Tennis Center.
The Sharks (3-2) dropped their second match in a row to the Lions (4-0) who remain unbeaten.
Double Competition
Riku Ogasawara and
Robin Sanz showed out for their fourth straight win on the two's court.
Jakub Beran and
Benjamin Loccisano clinched the point for the Sharks in their third win as a duo this season defeating Bacella/Iriarte 6-1. The Heine Bros comprised of
Ole Heine and
Jan Heine match went unfinished down 5-2 when their teammates clinched the competition.
Singles Competition
The Lions put the pedal down in the singles competition taking winning courts one, two, three and five to clean up four straight points and the victory.
Loccisano and
Mile Matic had matches go unfinished with the loss, but both were in positions to win. Loccisano had a 6-4, 2-1 lead before having his match shut down. Matic took his first set 6-2 and dropped the second 6-3, before having his match called off.
The Sharks now head to the consolation bracket where they will face Embry-Riddle at 3:00 am HT.
