SAN MARCOS, CA - The Hawaii Pacific University men's and women's cross-country teams faced tough competition at the recent invitational, demonstrating grit and determination against strong regional programs.
Men's Team Recap:
The HPU men finished 12th overall, led by senior Casey Collins with a time of 26:29.3, placing 77th. The rest of the scoring team included Tyler Stoker (27:34.0), Aaron Garcia (28:22.1), Jonah Sheridan (29:17.2), and Joshua Peller (30:06.0). The Sharks' 2:21:49 team time showed resilience, with a notable 3:37 gap between the first and fifth runners.
Women's Team Recap:
The women's team battled through to place 15th overall. Carly Dyer led the Sharks with a solid run, finishing in 90th with a time of 24:02.6. Sophie Hanson (25:32.2) and Isabella Acosta Figueredo (26:16.8) closely followed. Aubrey Sibble (26:46.7) and Maya Pompel (27:20.2) rounded out the scoring. The Sharks posted a total time of 2:09:59, with a 3:18 gap between the top five.
