HONOLULU, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Pacific University men's basketball earned an 80–74 road victory over Hawai'i Hilo on Saturday night in the Shark Tank, improving to 5–2 overall and 2–1 in PacWest play.

The Sharks led by 15 points at halftime and withstood a second-half push from the Vulcans to secure the conference win. HPU shot 39.5 percent from three-point range, knocking down 15 triples, and converted 19-of-21 free throws to close out the game.

Joshua West led all scorers with 20 points, adding four assists and shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Avi Halpert provided a major spark off the bench, finishing with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc.

HPU received strong contributions across the lineup, with Quinton McCullough adding 12 points, four assists, and three rebounds, while Josh Niusulu and Nemanja Sarenac each knocked down three three-pointers. The Sharks' bench accounted for 31 points, outscoring Hilo's reserves.

Despite Hawai'i Hilo cutting the deficit in the second half, the Sharks remained composed at the foul line and protected the ball late. HPU finished with 18 assists, forced 11 turnovers, and matched Hilo with 15 second-chance points.
