Hilo, HI - The HPU softball team finished up their series in Hilo this past week. The Sharks were unable to come out with a victory despite 3 hard fought games. In game 1, the Sharks offensive was able to push across 8 runs early in the game but Hilo got the bats going late as the Sharks lost 12-8. Game 2 was a pitchers duel with
Layla Molina pitching a 9.1 inning complete game but the Sharks fell just short losing 2-1. The Sharks dropped the 3rd game 7-3.
Layla Molina continued to impress on the mound for the Sharks while senior
Tiari Hernandez picked up 4 hits for the Sharks. HPU was able to get things going on the basepaths with 4 stolen bases across the 3 games and battled in every game.
The Sharks will look to bounce back against Azusa Pacific in a 3 game series spanning from
March 3-4 at
Sand Island next week.
