Honolulu, HI - The Sharks after dark strike again with HPU winning both games and a moment of deja vu as their late inning heroics continued from Friday into Saturday. The Sharks continued to swing the bat well all day and even when the bats went a little quiet in the final game, they were able to finally get past Concordia starter
Matthew Kaiser and into the Golden Eagles bullpen where some clutch hits set up Sanidad's perfect walkoff bunt.
The Sharks jumped out to an early 9-2 lead in game 1.
Tyler Arnold hit his 5th homerun of the year while
Noah Blythe went 4-5. The Golden Eagles made a come back attempt but
Ryan Inouye came in once again to shut the door in the 9th inning as the Sharks won 9-7.
The Sharks were very quiet offensively for the first 6 innings of the second game, with the exception of a
Bronson Rivera's 8th home run on the year; a 2 run blast, the Sharks only managed one other hit. Rivera got things started with a walk in the bottom of the 7th which was followed by a walk from
Tyler Arnold.
Skyler Agnew worked a walk which brought the bases loaded for
Troy Harding who smoked a single past the shortstop and pinch runner
Owen Wessel scored from second base to tie the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs,
Drew Sanidad laid down a perfect bunt and the throw went up the line as Agnew hustled around third to walk it off for the Sharks 5-4.
The Sharks will look to continue their impressive play on their road trip to California next week. The Shark will be in California for 2 weeks and play series against Fresno Pacific, Jessup, and Menlo.
