KAILUA, Hawai'i – The No. 27 Hawai'i Pacific women's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over Hawai'i Hilo on Monday at Kailua Racquet Club.
The Sharks secured the doubles point with strong performances on the top two courts. Evi Roobol and Annika Hakovirta earned a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while Willow Dymkowski and Tereza Noah followed with a 6-2 victory on court two. The third doubles match went unfinished with HPU leading.
In singles play, Hawai'i Pacific picked up four wins to seal the team victory. Roobol delivered a dominant performance on court one, winning 6-0, 6-1. Kayleigh Castillo added a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, defeating Vict Ricaurte-Cabas 6-4, 6-2.
Hakovirta continued the momentum with a 6-4, 6-3 win on court four, and Dymkowski secured another point on court five with a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Hawai'i Hilo earned its two points on courts two and six, including a win by retirement on court two.
With the doubles point and four singles victories, the Sharks controlled the match to secure the 5-2 result.
Hawai'i Pacific improves to 14-4 on the season with the win.
